Refrigeration condensing units is the core equipment of a refrigeration system, consisting of components such as a compressor, condenser, and evaporator. It achieves continuous cooling through a cycle of compression-condensation-expansion-evaporation.
Refrigeration condensing units can be classified according to cooling method, compressor type, evaporation temperature, etc. Different types of units differ significantly in performance and applicable scenarios:
1. Classification by cooling method:
Air-cooled condensing units: Require no cooling tower, easy to install, small footprint, and unreliant on water resources; however, they are significantly affected by ambient temperature, with cooling efficiency decreasing in high summer temperatures and a relatively lower energy efficiency ratio. Suitable for water-scarce areas, space-constrained commercial spaces (such as convenience stores and small shopping malls), and outdoor refrigeration equipment.
Water-cooled condensing units: Dissipate heat through a cooling tower, providing stable cooling performance and a high energy efficiency ratio, unaffected by significant ambient temperature; however, they require a cooling tower, circulating water pump, and piping system, resulting in higher installation and maintenance costs, and a certain water resource requirement. Suitable for medium to large-scale refrigeration systems, industrial cooling, central air conditioning in large commercial complexes, and areas with abundant water resources.
Evaporative condensing units: Integrate the condenser and cooling tower, improving heat exchange efficiency; when the cooling capacity is ≤528kW, their efficiency is superior to water-cooled units. Suitable for scenarios with high energy efficiency requirements.
2. Classification by Compressor Type:
Reciprocating Condensing Units: Capacities typically range from 10-700kW, suitable for industrial production equipment with lower loads, such as laboratories and research institutes.
Screw Condensing Units: Capacities can reach 600-1200kW, suitable for loads exceeding 700kW, such as industrial sand mill workshops, electroplating workshops, and food freezing workshops.
3. Classification by Evaporation Temperature:
High-Temperature Refrigeration Units (Water Chillers): Evaporation temperature > 0℃, mainly used in air conditioning systems, industrial equipment cooling, data center cooling, etc.
Medium-Temperature Refrigeration Units: Evaporation temperature between -40℃ and 0℃, suitable for food refrigeration, chilled water air conditioning, pharmaceutical warehousing, etc.
Low-Temperature Refrigeration Units: Evaporation temperature < -40℃, specifically designed for scenarios with extremely low temperature requirements, such as quick-freezing processes, cryogenic storage, and low-temperature chemical reactions.
