Ducted condensing units are refrigeration and heat exchange devices that integrate condensation and heat dissipation with ducted air delivery. Their core function is heat transfer through refrigerant phase change, while the duct system ensures centralized delivery of cool air. They are suitable for industrial and commercial applications with specific airflow organization requirements.
1. Core Working Principle
It follows the four core stages of a standard refrigeration cycle:
Compression Stage: The compressor compresses the low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant gas into a high-temperature, high-pressure gaseous state, converting mechanical energy into thermal energy.
Condensation Stage: The high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant enters the heat exchange coil, where forced convection air carries away heat, condensing into a high-pressure liquid refrigerant.
Throttling Stage: The high-pressure liquid refrigerant is depressurized by the expansion valve, becoming a low-temperature, low-pressure gas-liquid mixture.
Evaporation Stage: The low-temperature refrigerant absorbs heat from the air in the evaporator, evaporates into a gaseous state, and returns to the compressor, repeating the cycle to achieve continuous cooling.
2. Key Selection Considerations
Accurate Cooling Load Calculation: Calculate the total cooling capacity based on the area, ceiling height, equipment heating power, and personnel density of the usage scenario, using a baseline of 150-300W per square meter. This avoids under-cooling (insufficient cooling) or over-cooling (energy waste).
Static Pressure and Duct Compatibility: Confirm the external static pressure parameters. The static pressure must completely overcome the resistance of the ductwork and primary/secondary/high-efficiency filters to ensure adequate airflow at the terminal vents. For cleanroom scenarios, models with a static pressure ≥300Pa are recommended.
Energy Efficiency and Operating Condition Matching: For industrial scenarios requiring long-term continuous operation, prioritize models with Level 1 energy efficiency. For air-cooled units, ensure the applicable ambient temperature range covers -5℃ to 45℃. For water-cooled units, calculate the stability of the cooling tower's water supply temperature in advance.
Installation Space Verification: For ceiling-mounted units, reserve space in a machine room or mezzanine to ensure the load-bearing capacity meets equipment weight requirements and avoids occupying floor space in the production area.
