The maintenance and upkeep of blower air coolers should revolve around four core aspects: cleaning, lubrication, tightening, and inspection, to ensure efficient and stable operation of the equipment.
1. Daily Inspection and Operation Monitoring
Appearance and Structural Inspection: Check the equipment for deformation, corrosion, leaks, or loosening, especially at the tube bundles, flange connections, and blower guards.
Blower Operating Status: Listen for abnormal vibrations or noises from the blower. Abnormal noises may be caused by loose belts, insufficient bearing lubrication, or loose guards.
Motor and Electrical System: Check that the motor temperature and current are within the normal range, ensuring secure wiring and good insulation.
Heat Exchange Efficiency Monitoring: Record the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet air and the temperature drop of the process fluid. A decrease in cooling efficiency may be due to fin blockage or scale buildup inside the tubes.
2. Regular Maintenance Operations
Cleaning Fins and Tube Bundles: Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove dust, oil, and debris from the fins to avoid affecting heat exchange efficiency. For severe scale buildup, a specialized cleaning agent can be used for rinsing.
Fan Belt Maintenance: Check belt tension to ensure deflection is within a reasonable range; replace belts promptly if cracks, aging, or wear are found, and replace them in groups to ensure even stress distribution.
Lubrication System Maintenance: Regularly add high-temperature grease to the fan bearings to prevent dry friction and bearing damage. It is recommended to replenish grease every 500–1000 hours of operation.
Fan Alignment and Calibration: Check if the motor and fan hub are aligned. Adjust using a ruler or laser alignment tool to avoid one-sided belt wear.
3. Seasonal and Environmental Protection
Winter Antifreeze Measures: In cold regions, drain accumulated water from the cooling water system after shutdown to prevent freezing and pipe cracking. Use electric heating or circulating antifreeze if necessary.
High Temperature and Dust Environment Handling: Increase cleaning frequency in windy and dusty areas; monitor motor and bearing temperature rise in high-temperature environments, and install sunshades or enhance ventilation if necessary.
