Selection Considerations for Stainless Steel Air Coolers

When selecting a stainless steel air cooler, the following key points should be considered to ensure the equipment is suitable for the operating conditions and operates stably for a long time:

1. Material Compatibility: Prioritize confirming the corrosiveness of the operating medium. For general scenarios, select 304 stainless steel. For chemical scenarios containing chloride ions or strong acids and alkalis, select 316L stainless steel, which has a chloride ion corrosion resistance of over 200ppm.

2. Core Parameter Matching: It is recommended to select a model with a design pressure of 1.6MPa or 2.5MPa. The test water pressure should be 1.5 times the maximum pressure and held for 30 minutes without leakage. The cooling capacity design margin should be no less than 115% to avoid system overheating when a single unit is out of service.

3. Heat Exchange Structure Optimization: Prioritize using a finned tube structure with a flying blade design, which can reduce wind resistance and improve heat exchange efficiency, reaching 70%-85%. Simultaneously, balance the heat exchange area and wind resistance, controlling the air-side pressure drop to 80-150Pa, suitable for typical wind speeds of 2-8m/s.

4. Supporting Features and Maintenance Design: The end cap seals are made of aging-resistant materials with a lifespan of ≥10 years, avoiding the use of ordinary nitrile rubber; it is equipped with leakage monitoring, automatic air vents, and scale removal facilities, and provides sufficient space for maintenance and disassembly.

5. Operating Condition Adaptability Verification: For scenarios with scarce water resources, air-cooled models are preferred; high-temperature fluids require precise matching of heat exchange area and ventilation volume; modular design facilitates future expansion and on-site installation.
