What is the Working Principle of the A1 Flake Ice Machine?

The A1 flake ice machine operates on the principle of a compression refrigeration cycle. It converts water into ice through heat exchange between the refrigerant and water. The specific process is as follows:

1. Refrigerant Cycle

Compression Process: The compressor compresses the low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant gas into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas, increasing its temperature.

Condensation Process: The high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant gas enters the condenser, releasing heat to the external environment and condensing into a high-pressure liquid refrigerant.

Throttling Process: The high-pressure liquid refrigerant passes through the expansion valve, reducing its pressure and temperature, becoming a low-temperature, low-pressure liquid refrigerant.

Evaporation Process: The low-temperature, low-pressure liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator, absorbing heat from the surrounding environment and evaporating, becoming a low-temperature, low-pressure gas. This gas is then drawn back into the compressor, completing one refrigeration cycle.

2. Water Cycle and Ice Making

Water Film Formation: Water enters the water distribution plate from the evaporator's inlet and is evenly sprayed onto the inner wall of the evaporator through the sprinkler pipe, forming a thin water film.

Water film freezing: The water film exchanges heat with the low-temperature refrigerant in the evaporator flow channel, causing a rapid temperature drop and forming a thin layer of ice on the inner wall of the evaporator.

Flake ice formation: As the evaporator rotates, ice scrapers fixed to the outside of the evaporator scrape off the thin ice, breaking it into flakes that fall into the ice storage through the ice drop outlet.

Water circulation: Some of the water that did not freeze flows back to the chilled water tank through the water return outlet via the water collection tray, and is then re-entered into the water system by the chilled water circulation pump for reuse.

3. De-icing process

When the ice reaches a certain thickness, the hot gas discharged from the compressor is diverted through the reversing valve to the evaporator, replacing the low-temperature liquid refrigerant.

The hot gas forms a water film between the ice and the evaporator, acting as a lubricant, allowing the ice to fall freely into the ice storage under gravity.
