Condensing units are refrigeration devices that convert gas or vapor into liquid. Based on the condensation method, they can be categorized as water cooled, air cooled, and evaporative.
1. Water Cooled:
Principle: Water is used as the cooling medium, exchanging heat with water through the condenser pipes.
Features: Highly efficient, but requires a water pump and cooling tower. Suitable for applications with abundant or readily available water sources.
Applications: Large and medium-sized central air conditioning systems and industrial chillers.
2. Air Cooled:
Principle: Air is used as the cooling medium, with fans forcing air flow to dissipate heat.
Features: Simple system configuration, alleviating water shortages. However, higher condensing temperatures in summer requires a larger compressor capacity.
Applications: Medium and small refrigeration units and air conditioning systems, particularly in water-scarce areas.
3. Evaporative:
Principle: Combines water and air cooling, accelerating heat dissipation through water evaporation.
Features: Low cooling water consumption, requiring less than half the amount of air as air-cooled units, making it suitable for dry and water-scarce areas.
Applications: Large cooling towers and industrial refrigeration systems.
